Deva Moses
Deva moved to Sevierville with her husband, Jerry, in 2008, and after eight years of prayer, God blessed them with their first daughter, Eden, in 2011. Choosing to leave her job to be a stay-at-home mom, Deva’s vision and drive soon led her to create Bear Tootin Rustic Vacations from the ground up. Today, she is the proud mother of two daughters and a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating five businesses. She also co-founded Fierce, a women’s entrepreneur group where she encourages and mentors others as they navigate their own journeys. Grounded in her love for Christ and her family, Deva’s story is both remarkable and inspirational. When she isn’t leading her companies, she enjoys all-day shopping trips with friends and exploring new adventures with her family.
Jerry Moses
Jerry relocated to Sevierville in 2008 from the small town of Cynthiana, KY, alongside his wife, Deva, in search of greater opportunities within this thriving community. Together, they have made Sevierville home and are raising their two daughters, Eden and Tabitha. Jerry is a devoted Christian, a loving husband, and a dedicated father. He finds joy in spending quality time with his family, taking scenic drives through the Smoky Mountains, and deepening his faith through reading the Bible.
Karlee Berry
Karlee, the niece of Jerry and Deva, was born and raised in the small town of Cynthiana, KY. After graduating high school in 2014, she moved to Sevierville with her husband, Caleb, and their daughter, Haydn, to join the family business, Bear Tootin Rustic Vacations. Through her hard work, dedication, and passion for hospitality, Karlee earned one-third ownership of both Bear Tootin and Goose Creek Boutique in 2021. In July 2025, Karlee and Caleb were blessed with their second daughter, Lynnde, who joined their growing family. Outside of work, Karlee enjoys being outdoors, riding RZRs, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Krissy Schotters
Director of Operations
Krissy brings a wealth of experience and strong leadership to her role as Director of Operations at Bear Tootin. A Blount County native, she has proudly called Sevier County home since 2004. With a professional background deeply rooted in operations, Krissy has a keen understanding of what it takes to keep processes running smoothly and teams working effectively. Beyond her career, she is actively involved in her church and her children’s school, reflecting her passion for community and service. Krissy has been married to her husband, Mark, since 2009, and together they are raising their two children, Solomon and Eleanor. In her free time, she enjoys quality moments with her family and giving back to the community she loves.
Kara Lanham
General Manager
Kara, wife of Greg, was born and raised in Henderson, KY. Shortly after graduating high school, she began her career in accounts with Pittsburg Tank and Tower, a well-known water tank company in Henderson. After several years in the industry, Kara and Greg made a bold move to Gatlinburg, where they began working together to clean overnight cabin rentals. In 2022, Kara expanded her role by taking on weekly maintenance inspections for Bear Tootin properties. Her dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic quickly set her apart, and she worked her way up to become our General Manager. Kara and Greg are proud parents of three children—one son, Skyler, and two daughters, Brooklyn and Kyra. They are also blessed with grandchildren, who capture much of their love and attention. Outside of work, Kara is an adventurer at heart. She enjoys traveling, fishing, boating, camping, and, above all, cherishes time spent with her family on life’s most extraordinary adventures.
Kalab Berry
Maintenance Manager
Kalab, husband of Karlee and proud father of Haydn and Lynnde, was born and raised in Cynthiana, KY. Right out of high school, he began working third shift at CMWA (Toyota Factory) in Paris, KY. After five years in factory work, he and his family made the decision to move to Sevierville in 2015 to join the family business, Bear Tootin Rustic Vacations. Kalab began by cleaning hot tubs but quickly proved his determination and skill, advancing to maintenance manager. Today, he oversees the entire maintenance department, leading a team of four employees and managing relationships with over 100 property owners. In July 2025, Kalab and Karlee welcomed their second daughter, Lynnde. Outside of work, Kalab enjoys coaching his daughter in softball, riding RZRs, and watching football.
Derek Owners
Maintenance Team Member
Derek was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and developed a strong work ethic early in life. Immediately after graduating high school, he moved to New Orleans to assist with the cleanup and recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina, an experience that shaped his dedication to helping others and serving his community. After vacationing in the Smoky Mountains, Derek fell in love with the area and decided to make Tennessee his permanent home. In 2023, he joined Bear Tootin Rustic Vacations, where he has become a valued member of the team. Derek is married to his wonderful wife, Ashley, who works for Bear Tootin’s sister company, Goose Creek Boutique. Together, they share a love for the Smoky Mountains and the growing businesses they are a part of. In his free time, Derek enjoys riding RZRs, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Greg Lanham
Maintenance Team Member
Greg, husband of Kara, was born in Owensboro, KY, and raised in Henderson, KY. Shortly after graduating high school, he began his career working for the City of Henderson, where he remained for over a decade. After more than 10 years of service, Greg made the decision to move his wife and children to Gatlinburg, where together they began cleaning overnight cabin rentals. In 2021, Greg joined the Bear Tootin team as a member of our maintenance department, where his strong work ethic and dedication quickly made him an invaluable part of the team. Greg and Kara have one son, Skyler, and two daughters, Brooklyn and Kyra. They are also blessed with grandchildren, who hold a very special place in his heart. In his free time, Greg enjoys grilling, boating, fishing, and spending quality time with his family.
Tiffany
Reservations / Inspector
Tiffany was born and raised in rural southern Pennsylvania before making Sevierville her home in 2003. With a strong background in cabin maintenance, she brought valuable experience and dedication to Bear Tootin, where she stepped into the role of Laundry Supervisor in November 2024. Her commitment and versatility soon led her to also join the Reservations team, where she continues to contribute to the company’s success. Tiffany is a proud mother of two children, Jackson and Charlie, and shares her love of animals with her dog, Hank, and her horse, Willow. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Tiffany enjoys hiking, gardening, and pursuing her passion for equestrian sports, especially cross-country riding and trail obstacle challenges.
Holly
Inspector
Holly is a proud native of Sevierville who joined the Bear Tootin team in 2025 as a Cabin Inspector. She is blessed with a loving husband and five children, one of whom has special needs, as well as a lively household that includes two dogs and three cats. Holly has a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoys hiking in the mountains, gardening, and listening to music on family road trips. Guided by her strong faith, she is also preparing to embark on a new journey by attending Ministry School, where she looks forward to furthering her calling to serve others.
Christian
Laundry / Inspector
Christian grew up in the small town of Chapmanville, West Virginia. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army as a 25C Radio Operator, spending most of his four-year term stationed in Korea. Following his service, he relocated to Tennessee, where he met and married his wife, Holly, in 2021. Together they have a blended and lively household with five children, two dogs, and three cats, creating a home filled with love in Seymour. At Bear Tootin, Christian primarily focuses on laundry operations, though his versatility and strong work ethic often have him assisting with maintenance and inspections as well. Outside of work, he enjoys making memories with his family and has a lifelong passion for music.
